“Kohle erSetzen!” blocked lignite power plants 2017 in the Rhineland (Neurath) and 2018 near Leipzig (Lippendorf) in action of nonviolent disobedience, disrupting the operating procedure of burning coal by sitting in front of the gates A group of “Kohle erSetzen!” also supported the action of “Ende Gelände” 2018 by blocking the way for police while other “Ende Gelände” activists were approaching the rails. Well-prepared affinity groups are making decisions together, using the principle of consensus, so needs and concerns get space and hierarchic structures are reduced. The action was initiated by JunepA, the youth network for political actions as well as many individuals standing up for climate justice.
It takes a lot of us to make this uprising happen. We need you to shape this process with us.
