Action Alliance Together Against the Animal Industry

The Action Alliance “Gemeinsam gegen die Tierindustrie” (Together Against the Animal Industry) is an alliance putting the spotlight on the connections between climate change and animal production. We established the action alliance in July 2019 and are now preparing an action against the animal industry company PHW in Lower Saxony / Germany.

Allerweltshaus (House of the World)

The Allerweltshaus (House of the World) is a special place in Cologne. As an independent and intercultural meeting centre, it is a gathering place for people from a wide variety of backgrounds who work together for solidarity and togetherness on a local, national and international level.

Am Boden bleiben

“Am Boden bleiben” (engl. Stay Grounded) is a German activist group that was founded in 2018. Aviation is the fastest way to the climate crisis. Even though a little percentage of the world population has the money and possibilities to travel by plane, it has an enormous climate warming impact - affecting mostly those who cannot afford flying.

Animal Climate Action

Animal Climate Action (AniCA) was founded in the autumn of 2015 as an activist group putting the spotlight on the connections between climate change and animal exploitation. The group engages both in the climate justice and animal liberation movements and aims at influencing society.


ATTAC (Asociación por la Tasación de las Transacciones financieras y por la Acción Ciudadana, Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Citizen Action) is an international alter-globalisation movement that promotes the democratic monitoring of financial markets and the institutions entrusted to oversee them by means of political debate and social mobilisation.

Breakfree Suisse

Breakfree Suisse practices civil disobedience in Geneva since 2016. Geneva has no mines but a lot of banks, so the group mostly does divestment actions. They have done several against Crédit Suisse, a climate criminal financing all the biggest pipeline projects in North America, among other things.

Catalan Association of Engineers Without Borders

ClimAcció (Climate Action) is a climate justice group which was founded recently in Barcelona. We started meeting in July 2018 to organise the Marxa pel Clima (Climate March), a demonstration held on 10 November 2018 that mobilised a large number of organisations and individuals, gathering approximately 3,000 participants.

Contra el diluvio

Contra el diluvio (Against the flood) was born as a modest effort to develop a movement against climate change and its effects. To this end, we aim to raise awareness of the social consequences of climate change among people and organisations that are interested in current social movements by producing and translating written materials, organising lectures and debates, and gathering information about climate change and its social consequences in an accessible but rigorous manner.

Ende Gelände

Ende Gelände is an anti coal coalition calling for civil disobedience against lignite mining. Since 2015, they have organized four mass actions in which thousands of people blocked mines and power plants in German coalfields.

Abbreviated as esXR, arose in 2018 as part of Extinction Rebellion, an international non-violent civil disobedience movement against the mass extinction of species and the current existential and ecological crises. Due to the passive attitude shown by governments, we decided to take action and demand that they tell the truth about the climate, declare an ecological emergency, adopt legally binding political measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero in 2025, reduce the levels of consumption, and initiate real democratic processes, with Citizens’ Assemblies to supervise the changes.

Fossil Free Münster

Fossil Free Münster is part of the global Fossil Free-campaign by and campaigns on divesting public funds from fossil fuels. The group has been successful with Münster being the first city and also first university in Germany to divest.

Free Assange Committee Germany

The Free Assange Committee Germany was founded shortly after the capture of Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy on April 11, 2019. The current members were then looking, independently of each other, for a central contact point for joint protests and actions in Germany.

Free The Soil

In September 2019, Free the Soil will do a mass action against YARA in Brunsbüttel (Northern Germany), to disrupt one of Europe’s biggest nitrogen-fertilizer plants. The action will be one of mass civil disobedience, using bodies and collective determination – to stop the destruction where it’s happening.


Gastivists support grassroots groups who fight new gas infrastructure, facilitate the flow of information between NGOs and local groups, connect people and help build a movement that will stop gas and bring an energy transition.

Gelebte Utopie - Living Utopias

Gelebte Utopie is a community based in central Germany near Göttingen. They have a seminar area open for self organised groups and grow food in their garden. As they are following their hearts, they are active for climate justice, breaking the binary gender definition, against adultism, for freedom for all animals and for a sharing economy.

GEN Deutschland

The association GEN Germany (Global Ecovillage Network Germany) was founded in 2015 and is a constantly growing network. Our members - ecovillages, municipalities as well as residential and life projects - see themselves in the sense of the Global Ecovillage Network as research and training centres with a model character for society as a whole.

Limity jsme my

Limity jsme my (We are the limits) is a bottom-up climate justice movement in the Czech Republic. Started in 2015 by a group of students as a campaign against a proposed expansion of lignite mining in Northern Bohemia, it has transformed itself into a permanent network of activists from various groups and environments, working together for the goal of an immediate phase out of lignite - and other fossil fuels - and a just transition to a renewable economy.

Salmorejo Rebelde is a collective from Sevilla that defends climate justice. We are not aligned with any political party, we self-organise in a horizontal manner, and we act according to the principles of nonviolence, including civil disobedience.

System Change not Climate Change

“System Change, not Climate Change!” is a network of activists and initiatives working together towards climate justice in a decentralised manner across Austria. Their main thematic focus is on mobility: they fight the airport expansion in Vienna and similar climate damaging large-scale projects and struggle for a sustainable transport system in our cities and across Europe.


TKKG is a group of individuals and climate activists in Kiel (North Germany), and have come together for the mobilization of ENDE GELÄNDE 2016, the climate camps in the Rhenish and Lusatian lignite mining area, but also to make the issues of climate change and climate activism more visible in Kiel, through actions, debates, and events.

Turning the Tide 1.0 under Sails

August 31 – September 14, 2019 The „Lovis“ will be sailing across the Baltic sea in September 2019, stopping in different harbours along the way (Travemünde – Copenhagen – Malmö) for creative actions, raising awareness about hard coal transportation, gas and climate justice.
